I wish to convey my sincerest condolences to all the victims of the July 4th shootings and their families and hope that those who were injured will recover as soon as possible. The Martin Luther King Community, the people of Shreveport, face this tragic moment, with the loss of Morad Aziz, Syncere Brown, Jarike J. Dorsey, and Demorie Williams.The victims, survivors and families deserve justice. We will continue to pursue the perpetrators of these acts of violence, and we will not forget about the families. We thank the Caddo Parish Commission for its additional funding to aid in the investigation. I continue to ask you, the citizens, to contact law enforcement with any information that might lead to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrators.As our City continues to mourn for the victims, it is my hope that we can come together as a community to help you heal and become resilient.
