Shreveport: Louisiana State Police investigating the second officer-involved shooting in three days

Shreveport, LA (4/26/2023) – The Shreveport Police Department (SPD) responded to a service call involving shots fired on Lapaloma Street and Tulane Avenue. The incident is within the city limits of Shreveport.

When the SPD Officer arrived on the scene, he encountered an armed subject. During this encounter, shots were exchanged. The subject was struck and transported to Oschsner LSU Health Shreveport with life-threatening injuries. The Officer was not injured.

The SPD requested Louisiana State Police to investigate this officer-involved shooting. LSP Investigators are working diligently to process the evidence.

Residents were asked to find alternate routes around the area to allow for the movement of emergency vehicles and investigative personnel.
