Shots Fired During Attempted Robbery at Family Dollar on Bolton Avenue

ALEXANDRIA, LA (6/16/2025) – UrbanCast reached out to the Alexandria Police Department after receiving a tip regarding a possible attempted armed robbery at the Family Dollar located on Bolton Avenue on Monday, June 16, 2025.

A senior APD official confirmed the incident and stated that an official report would be released.

That report was made public around 7:30 PM on Monday, June 16, 2025.

According to APD, on Tuesday, June 10, at approximately 9:50 PM, officers responded to the 200 block of Bolton Avenue after receiving reports of an attempted armed robbery. During the incident, the store clerk discharged a firearm, firing multiple shots. The suspect fled the store before officers arrived. No injuries were reported.

Police are now asking for the public’s help in identifying the individual involved. Surveillance photographs have been released as part of the ongoing investigation.
