Alexandria, LA (6/3/24) – On Sunday night, June 2, 2024, at approximately 9:15 PM, the Alexandria Police Department (APD) responded to reports of a shooting in the 800 block of Stracener Street. The incident occurred in an area with minimal street lighting, just north of North 16th Street Bridge.
Upon arrival, officers found a scene marked by multiple shell casings. Police units were strategically positioned to illuminate the area and facilitate a thorough investigation. The victim was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. As of now, APD has not released information regarding the victim’s condition or a potential motive behind the shooting.
The community has raised concerns about whether this incident is connected to a previous shooting on 4th Street, which resulted in one fatality. However, APD has not confirmed any link between the two events.
