Rapides Parish, LA (5/31/2024) — Overnight, a severe weather event swept through Central Louisiana, causing several downed trees and making some roads impassable, as reported by the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office (RPSO).
The impacted areas include Hineston, Pineville, Deville, and Flatwoods. Deputies, along with several volunteer fire departments, responded to 15 weather-related incidents. Fortunately, no severe damage or injuries have been reported.
Deputies are still responding to reports of downed trees, and RPSO urges the public to exercise caution while traveling on roadways in Rapides Parish.
