ALEXANDRIA, La. (10/10/2025) – Senior Citizens Day at the Rapides Parish Fair drew a large and cheerful crowd Friday morning as Central Louisiana’s older residents gathered for a morning filled with laughter, entertainment, and community spirit.
The annual event, held at the State Evacuation Shelter on Highway 71 South, ran from 8:30 a.m. to noon and featured live music from a local DJ, door prizes, and a hearty lunch served at 11 a.m. Dozens of booths offered health and wellness information, while volunteers from local senior centers greeted guests with complimentary tickets and smiles.
The crowd filled the hall with conversation and excitement as fair officials, local leaders, and public servants stopped by to show support. The fall-themed decorations, complete with pumpkins, mums, and rustic hay bales, created a welcoming atmosphere that captured the spirit of the season.
Seniors even hit the dance floor, joining in on classics like the “Cupid Shuffle” as laughter and applause filled the air. The energy was contagious, with many saying it was the most lively Senior Day they had attended in years.
