Second shooting in a week on Harris Street

Alexandria, LA (1/19/2023) – Alexandria Police Department (APD) reported that at approximately 12:50 AM, officers were dispatched to the Harris Street area about reported gunshots.  

Note: Police do not believe the two shootings are related.

Upon APD Officers’ arrival, they discovered that a 30-year-old male from Alexandria, LA, had been shot in his right shoulder, lying in the middle of Harris Street near its intersection with Branch Street.  

Medical personnel arrived and transported the victim to a local hospital. The victim was treated for his non-life-threatening injuries and is now in stable condition.  

Alexandria Detectives interviewed the victim and determined the shooting occurred at a residence in the 2800 block of Harris Street.  

The suspect is unknown at this time.      

This is currently an ongoing investigation.
