Alexandria, LA (8/17/2023) – Rapides Parish Coroner’s Office released the name of the young man killed on Levin Street on Wednesday, August 16, 2023.
The individual is identified as Jamian Duncan of Alexandria. Mr. Duncan’s family has been properly notified.
16 hours later, the Alexandria Police Department released the following statement:
On Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at 10:50 PM the Alexandria Police Department responded to a call in the 2900 block of Levin Street in reference to a shooting. Responding officers determined that five individuals sustained gunshot wounds of varying degrees. The victims were transported by private vehicle(s) to Rapides Regional Medical Center. One victim would later succumb to injuries sustained in the incident. This is currently an ongoing investigation.
