Scam Alert: Fraudulent Calls Claiming to Be from the Alexandria Police Department

ALEXANDRIA, LA (5/7/2025) – Fraudulent calls claiming to be from the Alexandria Police Department are targeting residents, officials confirmed May 7, 2025.

Scammers are using the number (318) 441-6470, falsely identifying as Warrant Division officers requesting payment for fake warrants.

They demand payment through gift cards, a known tactic in fraudulent schemes.

This is a scam. Alexandria Police do not request or accept any payment by phone or gift cards.

Residents should not share personal information or send money in response to these calls.

If contacted, hang up immediately and report the incident to APD at (318) 449-5099.

The investigation remains ongoing. Authorities urge anyone with information to call the Detective Division at (318) 441-6416.
