Source: South Louisiana Community College

May 30, 2024 — The National EMS Academy, a division of Acadian Companies in partnership with South Louisiana Community College, is now accepting registrations for its upcoming EMT class. This essential training program is scheduled to commence on July 15, 2024, with a mandatory orientation on July 9-10. The course will conclude in late September.

Prospective EMT students can enroll at any of the Academy’s campuses located across Louisiana in Alexandria, Baton Rouge, Covington, Houma, Lafayette, Lake Charles, and New Orleans.

Graduates who successfully pass their National Registry exam will be eligible for employment with Acadian Ambulance, which currently has job openings in all its service areas. This presents a significant opportunity for new EMTs to embark on their medical careers immediately after completing their certification.

“Acadian not only provides an opportunity for prospective students to further their education by being trained and have a career waiting for them, but multiple opportunities for career growth within Acadian,” said Taylor Richard, Acadian’s Senior Director of Staffing.

The National EMS Academy is a renowned institution offering a variety of EMS career pathway courses, including entry-level, continuing education, and refresher courses for EMTs and paramedics. Accredited on a national level, the Academy operates facilities in Louisiana, Texas, and Tennessee, and serves as an authorized American Heart Association Training Center for CPR and ECC courses.
