Registered Sex Offender Arrested Again in Marksville for Multiple Charges

Marksville, LA (August 12, 2024) – A registered sex offender, Sean Dupuy, 31, from Marksville, was arrested again following a new set of charges. The Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office (APSO) initiated the case in July 2024 after receiving complaints of indecent behavior with a minor.

The initial findings by APSO detectives indicated that Dupuy committed multiple offenses. These include three counts of Sexual Battery of a Minor, Simple Kidnapping, and Trafficking of Children for Sexual Purposes. Dupuy was also charged with Computer-Aided Solicitation of a Minor, Indecent Behavior with Juveniles, and Aggravated Crime Against Nature.

Dupuy, previously convicted in 2013 for Carnal Knowledge of a Juvenile, has faced arrests for failing to register as a sex offender in 2014 and 2015. On July 31, 2024, after Dupuy did not surrender, a warrant was issued for his arrest. He was entered into the FBI’s national database as “Wanted.”

He was apprehended on August 6, 2024. Further investigations led to additional charges including Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Failure to Register as a Sex Offender, and Unlawful Use of a Social Networking Site. More warrants were issued on August 7 and 8, 2024, for these crimes.

Dupuy was arrested, and the bond was set at $215,000. He posted bond and was released on August 9, 2024. The investigation is ongoing.

Sheriff David L. Dauzat emphasized the importance of protecting children from predators. APSO remains committed to pursuing and prosecuting sex offenders.

All accused individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
