RAPIDES PARISH, La. (4/1/2025) – The school tax renewals in Rapides Parish will appear on the May 3, 2025 ballot with a strong focus on school operations and maintenance.
The Rapides Parish School Board is asking voters to renew two parish-wide millages that support school functions.
Proposition 1 supports General Fund Operations through a 7.45 mill, 10-year renewal that generates approximately $8.6 million annually.
These funds are used for utilities, student transportation, and instructional materials and supplies across the entire parish.
Proposition 2 proposes a 2.13 mill, 10-year renewal for maintenance salaries, vehicles, equipment, and upkeep of school facilities.
This renewal would provide approximately $2.5 million per year to support buildings like the school board office and RAPPS.
In addition to the parish-wide renewals, Poland, Ruby-Wise, and Pineville voters will see school-specific propositions on the ballot.
The Pineville bond proposal seeks $27 million to fund major construction and renovations at all five Pineville-area public schools.
Early voting begins April 19 and ends April 26. The online registration deadline is April 12; in-person and by-mail is April 2.
Voters have until April 29 to request a mail-in ballot. Election Day is Saturday, May 3, 2025.
