Lecompte, LA. (10/2/2022) – According to the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office (RPSO), Juvenile Detectives have arrested a juvenile in connection with the racially charge bomb threat directed at Rapides High School on Friday, September 30, 2022.
On Friday afternoon, Juvenile Detectives and Cyber Crimes Unit Detectives determined someone else may have perpetrated the crime.
As their investigation continued, Juvenile Detectives identified another juvenile as a possible suspect.
From their investigation, Juvenile and Cyber Crime Unit Detectives
obtained a search warrant for the juvenile’s cell phone. During the execution of the search warrant, evidence was found that implicated the juvenile as the source of the social media hoax.
Juvenile Detective’s, along with the assistance of Rapides Parish District Attorneys Office Juvenile ADA, charged the juvenile with one count of Terrorizing and one count of Obstruction of Justice.
The juvenile was taken into custody and placed in Renaissance Home for Youth.
At this time, Detectives say there is no evidence to support that this was anything more than a social media hoax.
