RAPC Extends Stormwater Study Public Outreach Phase

Alexandria, LA (11/21/2024) – The RAPC Stormwater Study Public Outreach Phase has been extended to address community concerns and allow more public input opportunities.

Recent feedback, combined with heavy rainfall from Tropical Storm Rafael, highlighted the need for additional engagement.

This extension includes prolonging the Community Flooding Survey until December 31, 2024, and planning new public outreach events. The original public hearing, scheduled for December 4, will be rescheduled to early 2025.

Officials emphasized that this decision reflects their commitment to inclusivity and thorough community engagement. The RAPC Stormwater Study Public Outreach aims to improve transportation system resilience through stormwater mitigation.

Residents can participate by completing the Community Flooding Survey online at https://www.rapc.info/communityflooding.

Updates on the project and additional outreach events are available at the RAPC Stormwater Study Project website: https://www.rapc.info/transportation.

Printed copies of the survey are available by request at 803 Johnston Street, Alexandria, LA. For additional inquiries, contact Jonathan Bolen, Chief Transportation Officer, at [email protected].
