ALEXANDRIA, La. (2/27/2025) – RADE Agents’ marijuana seizure led to multiple arrests after a large-scale narcotics operation in Rapides Parish. Authorities confiscated 170 pounds of high-grade marijuana, $40,000 in cash, two firearms, and body armor during four search warrants in Pineville.
The Rapides Area Drug Enforcement (RADE) Unit, working with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Louisiana State Probation and Parole, executed the operation on February 13, 2025. The primary target, Guangyi He, 38, had been under investigation for more than a year. He was previously arrested in December 2023 for transporting 51 pounds of marijuana and again in January 2024 when agents seized another 66 pounds of marijuana and $35,000 in cash.
Search warrants were executed at locations on Yale Street, Shannon Drive, LA-1204, and Betty Street. The Betty Street residence, identified as a stash house, contained most of the confiscated drugs and cash. Stash houses are commonly used by traffickers to store large drug inventories, shielding their operations from law enforcement and rival dealers.
During the operation, RADE Agents arrested:
- Jericho Elijah Day, 28 – Charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, illegal firearm possession, unlawful use of body armor, and parole violation. Held on a $350,500 bond.
- Jaquarius Deonte Sewell, 29 – Charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. Released on a $300,000 bond.
- Sammie Ray Sewell III, 30 – Charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, obstruction of justice, littering, and failure to signal. Released on a $111,100 bond.
- Stanley Dewayne White Jr., 22 – Charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, illegal firearm possession, and drug paraphernalia. Released on a $125,600 bond.
- Jamesetta Lassette Vorise, 33 – Charged with obstruction of justice and contempt of court. Released on an $11,000 bond.
- Guangyi He, 38 – Taken into ICE custody for deportation proceedings.
Residents in Rapides Parish have expressed ongoing concerns about large-scale drug operations. Some worry that lenient bonds allow repeat offenders to continue trafficking. Others support RADE’s aggressive approach, emphasizing the importance of removing high-volume distributors from the community.
RADE Agents confirmed their investigation is still ongoing. They encourage citizens to report drug activity via the Rapides Area Drug Enforcement Facebook page at RADE Unit Facebook. UrbanCast will continue providing updates on this developing case.
