Rapides Parish, La. (10/30/2022) – The Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office (RPSO) posted information on its Facebook Page this evening regarding internet hoaxes.
“We have received several calls this evening of a hoax going around Central Louisiana through garage sale sites on Facebook.
The hoax reports that a female has been beaten and stabbed in a local hospital and cannot be identified.
A couple of weeks ago, another hoax through Facebook was about a young male in the hospital, a victim of a crime who could not be identified.
Currently, The Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office IS NOT working on any case where an unidentified person has been a victim and is in the hospital. Local hospitals are receiving numerous calls about this hoax.”
Anytime there is something of this nature, if it is not being reported through an official law enforcement release, it should not be taken as truth.
