Pineville Woman Arrested for Simple Arson After Alexandria Fire

ALEXANDRIA, La. (2/26/2025) – A Pineville woman was arrested for simple arson following a structure fire in Alexandria.

On February 25, 2025, at approximately 12:58 PM, the Alexandria Fire Department responded to a building fire in the 1400 block of Jackson Street. Three engine companies, a district chief’s unit, and a fire investigator were dispatched.

Upon arrival, crews observed smoke emanating from the attic area. The fire was swiftly controlled within ten minutes, preventing further damage.

Investigators determined the fire was intentionally set. Fire Prevention Officers arrested 27-year-old Rayanne Elizabeth Vicknair of Pineville, Louisiana. She was booked into Rapides Parish Detention Center 1, charged with Simple Arson.

In Louisiana, Simple Arson is defined as the intentional damaging of any property without the owner’s consent by setting fire or causing an explosion. If the damage amounts to $500 or more, penalties include a fine up to $15,000 and imprisonment at hard labor for up to 15 years.
