Pineville: Two arrested in the El Torro Apartments Shooting 

Pineville, LA (December 22, 2023) – The Pineville Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred last night at the El Toro Apartments located at 1701 Military Highway. 

Officers responded to a report of shots fired shortly after 5:30 pm. Upon arrival, they located one individual who had been shot. The victim was transported to a local hospital and is currently in stable condition. 

Through the course of their investigation, detectives identified two individuals involved in the shooting and subsequently arrested them on charges of attempted second-degree murder. During the arrest, three firearms were recovered from the suspects. 

The name of the victim was not released.  PPD said this investigation is ongoing. 

Cartez Dotson, 36, of Alexandria, is charged with three counts of Attempted Second Degree Murder, Obstruction of Justice, Accessory after the fact, and Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Dotson’s bond is set at $310,000.

Terrance Partee, 38, of Pineville, is charged with three counts of Attempted Second Degree Murder and Obstruction of Justice Accessory after the fact. Partee’s bond is set at $320,000.

“We are grateful that the victim in this case is expected to recover fully,” said Chief Darrell Basco of the Pineville Police Department. “This was a senseless act of violence, and we are committed to bringing all those involved to justice.”
