Pineville, LA (May 22, 2024) – The Pineville Police Department is set to participate in the 2024 Louisiana Highway Safety Commission (LHSC) initiative, “Click It Or Ticket,” from May 20th through June 2nd.
This annual campaign aims to promote seatbelt usage and reduce fatalities caused by unrestrained passengers.
During this period, Pineville police officers will intensify patrols and diligently monitor seatbelt violations. The LHSC is funding a high-visibility enforcement and awareness campaign to underscore the importance of wearing seat belts.
“Taking the time to buckle up before every trip is the single most effective thing you can do to protect yourself in a crash,” said a spokesperson for the Pineville Police Department. “Our goal is to ensure the safety of both our citizens and visitors to our community.”
Residents are encouraged to always wear their seatbelts and remind others to do the same. This simple action can significantly reduce the risk of injury or death in the event of a collision.
