Pineville Man Arrested for Illegal Firearm Discharge in Alexandria

Alexandria, LA (1/17/2025) – A Pineville man has been arrested for an illegal firearm discharge in Alexandria, following an investigation by Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Detectives.

On January 3, 2025, deputies responded to the 2900 block of North Bolton Avenue after reports of illegal firearm use. Although no suspect was located initially, detectives pursued the case, identifying 53-year-old Brett Earnest Cohenour as the suspect.

Detectives gathered sufficient evidence supporting the firearm allegations and additional charges. On January 12, 2025, Cohenour was arrested without incident and booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center. He faces charges of illegal firearm use and two counts of violating a protective order.

Cohenour remains in custody with a bond set at $15,500. Detectives confirm the investigation is ongoing and encourage anyone with information to contact Detective Tamiko Paulk at (318) 473-6727.
