Monroe, LA. (9/25/2022) – According to the Monroe Police Department, Officers responded to an altercation inside the food court of the Pecanland Mall. The incident occurred just after 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 24, 2022.
A verbal altercation between two juveniles escalated into a physical altercation.
As officers were intervening, an unknown gunman discharged a firearm inside the mall – no one was shot.
Two individuals have been arrested in connection with the altercation.
Detectives are reviewing video footage from the mall and are actively working the scene.
MPD stated at the time of this incident, at least seven off-duty officers were working at the mall; an additional nine MPD units were called/reported to the scene.
