Alexandria, LA (May 14, 2025) – Pafford Emergency Medical Services has officially secured its position as the sole ambulance provider for Rapides Parish after receiving a unanimous vote of approval from the Rapides Parish Police Jury.
The decision came during the Police Jury’s meeting on May 12, 2025, where members voted to approve the written contract with Pafford, following a recommendation from legal counsel and the newly formed Parish Ambulance Control Board.
This written contract finalizes the service provider selection initially made on April 10, 2025.
According to the press release issued by Parish President Craig Smith, the contract will take effect on June 10, 2025, officially granting Pafford Emergency Medical Services the responsibility of providing sole provider ambulance services throughout the parish.
This vote marks a significant step in the parish’s ongoing efforts to restructure and strengthen emergency response services.
