ALEXANDRIA, LA (5/8/2025) – A major illegal drug seizure in Alexandria has led to the arrest of a suspected large-scale trafficker.
For several months, the Rapides Area Drug Enforcement (RADE) Unit investigated narcotics activity in Rapides Parish. Agents identified 31-year-old Dequavious Javonte Wagner of Alexandria as a key suspect.
Wagner was believed to be one of Central Louisiana’s largest narcotics traffickers.
On May 6, 2025, agents arrested Wagner and seized a wide range of illegal drugs.
Seized items included:
• 65 pounds of powder cocaine
• 96 pounds of methamphetamine
• 1.2 pounds of heroin
• 6 pounds of fentanyl
• 1.3 pounds of synthetic marijuana
• 252 grams of marijuana
• 87 grams of crack cocaine
• 160 bottles of promethazine (20 gallons)
• and a handgun
Estimated Street Value
The estimated street value of the drugs exceed $1.6 million. According to DEA standards, the 6 pounds of fentanyl could contain over 1.3 million lethal doses — enough to kill nearly 30 times the population of Alexandria, Louisiana.

Wagner was booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center on multiple narcotics charges. His bond was set at $1,000,200. He was later transferred into federal custody following a complaint arrest by the FBI Alexandria Field Office.
