Natchitoches, La. (9/19/2023) – Natchitoches Parish Sheriff Office (NPSO) reported a single vehicle crash on I-49.
A Florida man suffered non-life threatening injuries in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate-49 this morning, just south of Natchitoches according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.
At approximately 9:47am, Deputies assigned to the NPSO Patrol Operations Bureau, Louisiana State Police and Natchitoches Regional Medical Center EMS responded to call. NATCOM 911 Center reported a accident of a single-vehicle rollover crash on I-49 northbound near milepost #136 south of Natchitoches.
Units arrived on scene finding one person suffering from non-life threatening minor injuries.
According to preliminary reports from LSP, a 38-year-old Orlando, Florida man operating a 2019 Ford Transit Van was traveling northbound on I-49 near milepost #136 when the vehicle experienced a equipment failure/tire blowout. This action caused the driver of lose control of the vehicle leaving the road on the left side traveling down an embankment. The vehicle then overturned, striking a couple of trees coming to a rest on it’s left side. The driver was assessed at the scene and released without transport to a medical facility.
