Alexandria, LA (6/5/2024) – The Alexandria Police Department (APD) has announced that no official police report will be filed regarding the reported shooting on Andrews Street.
Multiple residents in the area reported to UrbanCast that they heard sounds of gunfire and saw first responders on the scene. UrbanCast also reported witnessing police and ambulance vehicles present at the location.
According to the Rapides Parish Inmate Inquiry System, Jeri Lydia Bigelow, 32, of Alexandria, was arrested and charged with several offenses, including criminal damage to property, illegal use of weapons/dangerous instrumentalities, possession of CDS I, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She is also awaiting extradition proceedings.
APD has confirmed Bigelow’s arrest but has not confirmed or denied any injuries related to the incident. Bigelow remains in custody with a bond set at $16,500 and is awaiting extradition proceedings.
Residents in the area are seeking further clarification from local authorities regarding the events on Andrews Street.
