West Monroe, La. (10/04/2023) – On October 2, 2023, the West Monroe Police Department Criminal Investigations Division received a tip from the Navy’s NCIS Unit regarding a West Monroe resident by the name of Kyle Wilks. The NCIS unit received a tip that Wilks was possibly planning to commit a violent mass casualty act.
Wilks is enrolled in the Navy’s Delayed Entry Program. Due to Wilks being in the Delayed Entry Program, the NCIS unit was unable to continue their investigation and forwarded it to our agency.
On Yesterday (10/03/2023), members of the West Monroe Police Department, Louisiana State Police Criminal Intelligence Unit, The Louisiana Attorney General’s Office, and the Federal Bureau of Investigations executed a search warrant at the home of Kyle Wilks. During the search, multiple items were seized. Wilks was taken into custody at the scene, without incident, and was taken to WMPD for questioning.
During the interviews, information was obtained from Wilks that implicated him in multiple offenses. Wilks was charged with one count of Terrorizing and was booked into Ouachita Correctional Center where he is currently being held without bond. Additional charges may follow as the investigation is still ongoing.
