Natchitoches, La. (08/26/2023) – A Natchitoches woman suffering from moderate non-life threatening injuries was airlifted to a regional trauma center following a single-vehicle crash earlier this evening according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.
At approximately 7:10pm, Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies, Louisiana State Police, Natchitoches Parish Fire Protection District #6 Rescue and Natchitoches Regional Medical Center EMS responded to NATCOM 911 Center reports of a single-vehicle crash with injuries on La. Hwy 6 West near the Collins Road west of Natchitoches.
Units arrived on scene finding the sole-occupant of the vehicle suffering from moderate injuries.
Life Air Rescue was contacted to respond to the scene.
According to NPSO Deputies, the preliminary investigation revealed that a 2000 Honda CRV operated by a 28-year-old Natchitoches woman was traveling eastbound on La. Hwy 6 when for reasons still under investigation left the road on the right side. The vehicle then traveled down an embankment struck a culvert went airborne and rolled over coming to a rest upright.
The driver was transported from the scene by EMS to a landing zone set-up near I-49 and La. Hwy 6 then airlifted to a regional trauma center for treatment.
Troopers assigned to LSP Troop-E Alexandria are investigating the crash.
