Natchitoches, LA (3/8/2023) – The Natchitoches Police Department (NPD) arrested two juveniles and recovered three firearms yesterday afternoon after a report of shots fired on Royal Street.
On March 6, 2023, around 5:12 p.m., officers with the Natchitoches Police Department responded to Royal Street in reference to hearing gunshots in the area. Officers got a description of the suspect vehicle and were told it fled toward South Drive. While searching the area, officers located the vehicle on Williams Avenue and attempted a traffic stop on Scarborough Avenue. When the suspect vehicle finally stopped, two of the passengers fled from the car on foot. After a brief foot chase, the two juveniles were arrested without incident.
One of the juveniles was arrested for illegal possession of a handgun by a juvenile, discharging a firearm within the city limits of Natchitoches, and being in possession of a stolen firearm. The second juvenile was arrested for illegal possession of a handgun by a juvenile.
