Natchitoches Police Identify Suspect After Overnight Shooting

Natchitoches, LA (2/22/2024) – The Natchitoches Police Department (NPD) has identified a suspect wanted for attempted second-degree murder and aggravated criminal damage to property following an overnight shooting incident.

On February 21, 2023, at approximately 8:13 p.m., officers from the Natchitoches Police Department responded to reports of gunshots in the vicinity of the 1100 block of Berry Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered a crime scene and collected evidence.

An arrest warrant has been issued for X’Zavierre Charles, a 28-year-old Black male from Natchitoches, who is charged with attempted second-degree murder and aggravated criminal damage to property.

Residents are urged not to approach or attempt to apprehend Charles themselves, as he is considered armed and dangerous. Instead, any suspicious activity should be reported to the Natchitoches Police Department at (318) 352-8101.

Additionally, individuals with information regarding this investigation are encouraged to contact Detective Rudy Glass at (318) 357-3878. All information provided will be treated confidentially.
