Natchitoches, LA (12/9/2023) – The Natchitoches Police Department (NPD)is investigating a homicide that occurred early Saturday morning on Myrtle Drive.
On December 9, 2023 around 2:06 a.m., officers with NPD were dispatched to the 500 block of Myrtle Drive in reference to a gunshot victim. Upon officers arrival they located, Reginald Howard, 47 of Natchitoches who was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and began rendering first aid to the victim. The Natchitoches Parish Coroner’s Office pronounced Reginald Howard deceased as a result of his injuries.
Derrick Booker, 45 of Natchitoches was placed under arrest without incident and is charged with Second Degree Murder. He was placed in the Bossier Parish Maximum Security Jail.
This investigation is ongoing and the Natchitoches Police Department will release more details as they become available.
