Natchitoches, LA (8/18/2024) – Authorities in Natchitoches Parish are on high alert after three inmates escaped from the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center.
The Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies, Natchitoches Police Department, Winn Parish K-9 Tracking Team, and Louisiana State Police Air Support are actively searching for the three Natchitoches Parish escapees. Sheriff Stuart Wright has confirmed the ongoing search operation.
The Natchitoches Parish escapees have been identified as Johnny Williams, Malakhi Nathaniel Gallant, and Seankalyn Chatman. Williams, age 22, was held on charges including Principal to 2nd Degree Murder and Illegal Carrying of a Firearm. Gallant, age 21, faced multiple charges, including Flight from an Officer and Aggravated Obstruction of a Highway, with additional warrants from South Carolina and DeSoto Parish. Chatman, age 26, was incarcerated on various charges, including Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Battery on a Police Officer.
These Natchitoches Parish escapees were last seen in orange jumpsuits but may have changed into gray sweatpants and white t-shirts. A heavy law enforcement presence is concentrated on the Bypass, and residents are advised to avoid the area.
The Natchitoches Parish escapees are considered dangerous. Residents are urged not to approach them and to contact 911 immediately if they are spotted. The escapees have been entered into the National Crime Information Center database as wanted persons.
Sheriff Wright has also advised residents in the immediate area to remove keys from vehicles and lock all doors. Information can be reported to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office or the Natchitoches Police Department. Confidential tips can also be provided to Natchitoches Crime Stoppers.
