Chopin, LA (4/23/2023) – The Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office (NPSO) reported a Morgan City man suffered moderate injuries in a single-vehicle crash on I-49 near the Natchitoches-Rapides Parish line on Saturday, April 22, 2023.
At approximately 3:59 pm, multiple agencies responded to reports of a single-vehicle crash on I-49 (southbound) near the Natchitoches-Rapides Parish Line.
Units arrived on the scene, finding the vehicle operator suffering from what was believed to be moderate non-life-threatening injuries.
Deputies say a 27-year-old Morgan City man operating a 2020 Blue Hyundai Elantra was traveling southbound on I-49 south of Chopin when, for reasons still under investigation, he exited the road on the left side, traveling several feet, striking a tree.
The injured man was transported from the scene by EMS to a regional trauma center for treatment of injuries.
Troopers assigned to LSP Troop-E Alexandria investigated the crash.
