Alexandria, LA (8/29/24) – On Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at around 9:12 PM, a motorcycle collided with a pedestrian at US 71 and 3rd Street.
Both the pedestrian and the motorcycle were traveling southbound in the left-hand lane when the crash occurred.
Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene and transported both the pedestrian and the motorcycle operator to a nearby hospital. They suffered major injuries. Authorities conducted a toxicology screening, and the results are currently pending.
Witnesses reported a heavy police presence on US 71 near I-49 and Curtis/Lemon Bridge around 9:30 PM. This motorcycle crash involving a pedestrian has drawn significant attention, highlighting the severity of the incident.
