Hermann, MO (3/13/2023) – According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), a Blue Alert was issued on Sunday, March 12, 2023, out of Hermann, Missouri.
The alert said police were looking for Kenneth Lee Simpson, 35. Simpson shot two Hermann police officers at a gas station and fled. Both police officers were transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
MSHP tweeted that Detective Sergeant Mason Griffith had succumbed to his injuries, and the second officer was in serious but stable condition.

Currently, Simpson was barricaded in a house. The scene is still active. The Gasconade County School District has canceled classes for Monday to ensure the safety of students and staff.
