Services for Damariah will be on April 22, 2023, at the Pentecostals of Alexandria (GA Mangun Center), 2817 Rapides Avenue, Alexandria, Louisiana

The viewing starts at noon, and services are at 1 pm.

Obituary

Ms. DaMariah Danyelle Lavan, “MEME,” transitioned to eternal rest on April 12, 2023, at Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She was born to Damien and Amanda Lavan on September 19, 2007.

Meme was a member of Calvary Tabernacle from the time she was born until her death under the leadership of Pastor John Russell. She was also a student of Peabody Magnet High School, where she displayed quiet and reserved qualities. Meme was very passionate about her success and academics while also being committed to her basketball team.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Irma Leach, Maryanne and Freddie Lavan, Ida Mae Hall, Robert Young, and Clyde Smith

Meme leaves to cherish her special memories her parents, Damien and Amanda Lavan; grandparents, Clyde and Loretta Martin of Alexandria, LA; her sisters, Zion Lavan of Alexandria, LA, Whitly Ozenne of Lafayette, LA, Dominique Lavan of Houston, TX and Taylor Benoit of Lafayette, LA; brothers, Quincy Martin and Omarion Lavan both of Alexandria, LA and Damien Lavan, Jr of Lafayette, LA; cousins, MaKasha Martin, Kenatavious Blue, and Heaven Martin all of Alexandria, LA, Raelyn Martin of Carrollton, TX, Cyriah and Immanuel Harbor of Arlington, TX; aunts, Seneca Martin of Alexandria, LA, Iretha Harbor (Kedrick) of Arlington, TX, Tasha Gobert (Greg), Deidra Lavan, Roxsann Lavan, Tineshala Simmons (Damien), Chakeitha Watkins and Becky Lavan (Deceased); uncles, Clyde Martin of Alexandria, LA and Freddie Lavan (Deceased).

Please keep the family and the student body of Peabody High School in prayer.

There are no words to explain the sorrow and pain you all must be feeling. Your daughter will be so missed. We know words seem meaningless in times like these but please know that you have the love and support of many.
