Rapides Parish, La. (1/30/2026) — Marksville woman killed in Rapides Parish crash after Louisiana State Police Troop E responded to a two-vehicle collision on Louisiana Highway 1 at Tyler Road.
Troopers arrived on January 28, 2026, at about 10:48 a.m. in Rapides Parish.
Investigators said 44-year-old Latrice Y. Robinson of Marksville drove a 2015 Ford Focus south on LA 1. However, the Focus crossed the centerlines into the northbound lane while attempting to pass multiple vehicles. The Focus then collided head-on with a northbound 2016 Infiniti QX8.
Robinson wore a seat belt and suffered fatal injuries. Troopers pronounced her dead at the scene.
The driver and a passenger in the Infiniti wore seat belts and suffered moderate injuries. Deputies transported them to a local hospital for treatment.
Troopers collected routine toxicology samples and submitted them for analysis. Meanwhile, the investigation remains active.
State Police warned that distracted and inattentive driving continues to cause serious crashes across Louisiana. Officials urged drivers to stay alert because one lapse can turn deadly.
