Alexandria, LA (2/8/2023) – Desmond Lamonte Clowers, the man suspected of murdering Alfred King, was captured.
According to sources, Clowers was captured in Baton Rouge by the U.S. Marshals Service.
APD identified Clowers, 45, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, as a prime suspect in the shooting death of King after a detailed investigation.
According to the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office, Clowers is being held as a fugitive by the order of the 19th JDC. No Bond was set.
On Friday, January 20, 2023, at approximately 01:22 AM, the Alexandria Police Department (APD) was dispatched to 12th and Magnolia Streets about someone being shot.
Upon APD Officers’ arrival, they discovered a 34-year-old male, Alfred Jerome King, from Alexandria, LA, had been shot and was lying on the ground in front of the apartments in the 500 block of Magnolia Street.
Medical personnel arrived and transported the victim to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased a short time later.
