LSUA Inducts Record Number of Online Students into Omega Nu Lambda National Honor Society

ALEXANDRIA, La. (3/4/2026) – Louisiana State University of Alexandria (LSUA) proudly announces the induction of its newest members into the Omega Nu Lambda (ONL) National Honor Society, recognizing outstanding academic achievement among online students.

These learners have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership, and a steadfast commitment to their educational journeys while balancing the unique demands often associated with online study. Their induction affirms LSUA’s continued emphasis on expanding access to high-quality higher education for students across Louisiana, the nation, and beyond.

Amber Weidner, LSUA Distance Learning Support Coordinator, said, “This is our largest class of ONL inductees ever. This feat reflects the continued growth, excellence, and dedication of our students, whose achievements exemplify the high standards and strong community that define our online program. The record-breaking number of inductees not only celebrates individual accomplishment but also highlights the expanding impact and momentum of the Chi chapter as we continue to support and recognize outstanding online learners.”

Omega Nu Lambda was established to recognize and connect high-achieving online students across the United States. The organization was founded on the principle that there is no longer a “typical” college student. Today’s learners represent a wide range of life experiences as working professionals, parents, military service members, and career changers, each pursuing academic success through flexible learning pathways.

Research Consistently Shows

Research consistently shows that student success in online environments is strengthened when learners feel acknowledged and connected. Omega Nu Lambda’s mission is to provide both recognition and community, honoring students’ academic accomplishments while fostering meaningful connections among members nationwide.

At LSUA, online enrollment continues to grow rapidly, reflecting the university’s commitment to delivering flexible, affordable degree programs aligned with workforce needs. Induction into Omega Nu Lambda represents not only academic distinction but also perseverance and engagement in a learning environment designed to serve students wherever they are.

LSUA extends sincere gratitude to Amber Weidner, LSUA Chapter Advisor, for her leadership and dedication to supporting online students. Through her guidance, the LSUA chapter continues to cultivate a strong sense of community and academic pride among its members.

Founded to recognize and support the unique achievements of online learners, Omega Nu Lambda continues to expand its mission of academic excellence, integrity, and service through chapters such as LSUA’s.
