Alexandria, LA (8/23/2024) – On Friday, August 23, 2024, at around 6:30 PM, multiple UrbanCast/involvedinitall.com supporters reported seeing a heavy police presence on Provine Place off Versailles. Officers actively searched the wooded area between Provine Place and Coliseum Boulevard, which they had blocked off. This intense police activity has heightened safety concerns among West Alexandria residents.
By 7:23 PM, onlookers reported drones taking flight over the area. Shortly afterward, UrbanCast supporters observed police rushing from the scene and heading to Monroe Street. They counted around 15 police units arriving at the new location on Monroe Avenue, suggesting a shift in the search.
The Alexandria Police Department (APD) later confirmed that the search was for a patient who had escaped from Longleaf Hospital. At approximately 6:15 PM, 21-year-old Styln Wise fled from Longleaf Hospital on Versailles Blvd. Wise was last seen in the Versailles Blvd area and is considered dangerous. Authorities have not determined if he is armed.
The escape of Styln Wise from Longleaf Hospital has left many in the community worried about their safety. APD urges residents to avoid any contact with Wise and to report any sightings immediately. The police continue to search for Wise using all available resources.
