Incident Background: The search for Aucoin began after an incident on July 10, 2024. Denham Springs Police Chief Rodney Walker reports that on that afternoon, officers were dispatched to LA Hwy 16 near John Martin Lane in response to a female found in the roadway with an apparent stab wound. Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim with a potentially life-threatening injury, and she was subsequently taken to Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge for further treatment.
Investigations revealed that the victim had been beaten inside a moving vehicle on LA Hwy 16. When she attempted to escape by opening the passenger door, Aucoin allegedly began swinging a knife, injuring her. He then continued driving but abandoned the vehicle in a parking lot before fleeing the scene.
Connection Between Incidents: LPSO detectives later learned about an earlier argument between Aucoin and the female victim at a residence on Juban Road, where he allegedly assaulted her with a knife, forced her into a vehicle, and fled. The victim managed to escape from the moving vehicle, which led to the initial Denham Springs Police Department investigation.
Authorities Urge Public Assistance: Sheriff Jason Ard and Chief Rodney Walker urge anyone with information regarding Aucoin’s whereabouts to come forward.
