Lafayette, LA (5/8/2023) – The Lafayette Police Department (LPD) reported three victims were injured in a shooting at Heymann Park on Sunday, May 7, 2023.
LPD responded to a disturbance call around 6:50 pm. Upon arrival, LPD officers heard gunshots within the park’s perimeter. However, officers were not able to identify suspects.
LPD Officers identified three victims a 17-year-old male and a 55-year-old female suffering from non-life-threatening injuries and a 35-year-old male suffering from life-threatening injuries. All victims were transported to local hospitals by EMS.
The investigation is ongoing.
