Lafayette, LA (2/20/2023) – The Lafayette Police Department (LPD) reported around 1:50 am on Monday, February 20, 2023, LPD officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of Louisiana Avenue regarding a shooting.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered a male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was located inside a car.
Officers rendered life-saving measures until EMTs arrived. The victim was transported to a local hospital. However, the victim later died as a result of his injuries.
Homicide investigators worked the scene to gather information.
