Lafayette, La. (5/24/2023) — According to the Lafayette Police Department (LPD), a 14-year-old was injured in a shooting on Tuesday, May 23, 2023.
Just after 7:00 pm, LPD responded to a shooting on Louisiana Avenue near Tenth Street. Upon arrival, LPD Officers found a male victim suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot injuries to his upper body. The vehicle the victim was in was found at a store on East Simcoe Street, blocks away from the source of the gunfire.
The victim was transported to a Lafayette area hospital. According to police, the victim is expected to make a full recovery.
