Hammond, La. (10/9/2022) – According to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office (TPSO), deputies are investigating an overnight shooting that left one juvenile dead in Hammond.
The sheriff’s office received a call of a shooting in the St. Paul Loop Neighborhood of Hammond. The caller indicated that someone was shot. As deputies arrived on the scene, it was discovered the victim was a 16-year-old male who had sustained a fatal gunshot wound.
At this time, detectives are investigating the incident as a homicide and have several suspects in custody. Because the incident involves juveniles, names are being withheld at this time.
