Iberia Parish, LA (10/14/2023) – The Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office (IPSO) reported a man was shot and killed during an argument.
On October 12, 2023, at approximately 9:15 p.m., IPSO Bureau of Investigation detectives responded to a home in the 6000 block of Coteau Road about a deceased male located in the backyard of the residence.
A spokesperson said through investigation, IPSO detectives learned that James Nic Derouen, 53 shot his brother during an argument.
James Nic Derouen was arrested on the charges of Second Degree Murder (LA RS 14:30.1).
Derouen was booked into the Iberia Parish Jail. His bond was set at $502,000.00.
