Rapides Parish, LA (2/6/2024) – The Rapides Parish Coroner has confirmed a homicide stemming from a shooting incident on Victoria Drive last night. Tragically, the victim, of this event was a 16-year-old female, succumbed to her injuries early this morning at Rapides Regional Hospital, just after midnight.
At this time, the identity of the victim is being withheld pending verification of next of kin notification, which is currently underway out of state. An autopsy is pending to further determine the circumstances surrounding the young girl’s untimely death.
The Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office (RPSO) has confirmed that it is actively investigating the incident as a homicide. According to a spokesperson, detectives worked tirelessly throughout the night, collecting evidence and conducting interviews with witnesses in an effort to piece together the events leading to this tragic outcome.
