Alexandria, LA (6/18/2025) – A high-speed motorcycle pursuit on LA Hwy 28 West ended in Alexandria with the arrest of a Texas man wanted for parole violation.
At approximately 7:12 PM, a Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Deputy attempted a traffic stop on a motorcyclist spotted without a helmet or eye protection near St. Claire Road. The suspect, identified as 44-year-old Robert Kip Williams of Colespring, Texas, initially stopped near LA 121 but refused to comply with the deputy’s instructions to turn off or dismount the motorcycle.
Williams fled the scene, initiating a high-speed pursuit that reached 120 mph. At several points, he traveled eastbound in the westbound lane, creating significant danger for oncoming traffic. The chase continued into Alexandria, where Williams intentionally struck two RPSO units before coming to a stop near the 6600 block of LA 28 West.
Following a brief struggle, Williams was apprehended and medically evaluated on scene by EMTs. He was then transported and booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center.
Williams faces multiple charges, including:
- No safety helmet
- Improper riding (no eye protection)
- Flight from an officer
- Three counts of reckless operation of a vehicle
- Simple littering
- Two counts of criminal damage to property ($1,000–$5,000)
- Expired driver’s license
- Switched license plate
- No license plate light
- Operating a vehicle without insurance
- Resisting an officer by force or violence
- Simple battery of a police officer
- Extradition for an out-of-state parole violation
Williams remains in custody pending extradition to Texas.
The Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office thanked the Alexandria Police Department and Louisiana State Police for their assistance in the arrest. The case remains under investigation.
