Hammond: Suspects wanted in a business burglary and ATM theft

Hammond, LA (6/24/2023) – The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office (TPSO) is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects of a business burglary where an ATM was stolen.

TPSO Detectives said the white truck and the ATM had been recovered.

Chief Jimmy Travis says in the early morning of June 22, 2023, “Miller’s Mart,” a convenience store located on the corner of Happywoods Road and Club Deluxe Road, was broken into by two unknown subjects. Security footage from the business shows a white Ford F-150 backing up to the store’s front window around 1:45 AM. Two subjects exit the truck and break the front glass before hooking a chain around the ATM.

The subjects then re-enter the truck and make several attempts at yanking the ATM from within the store before successfully removing the top portion of the machine. The subjects then attempt to remove the bottom half from the base but are unsuccessful and leave the scene within two minutes of arrival.

The truck is observed to have a headache rack and toolbox installed; however, license plate information is unavailable.

Chief Travis asks anyone with information regarding the identity of the suspects to contact Detective Brent Ridder at 985-902-2036.
