Georgetown, LA (10/17/2023) – The Louisiana State Police (LSP) reported Georgetown’s Chief of Police was arrested for malfeasance.
In August 2023, the LSP Bureau of Investigations/Alexandria Field Office (LSP AFO) received a complaint of malfeasance committed by the Chief of Police of the Georgetown Police Department. According to the provided information, 51-year-old George Hinds of Georgetown collected a cash payment on a traffic stop.
As a result of information obtained during the investigation, LSP AFO secured an arrest warrant for Hinds. Earlier today, Hinds was booked into the Grant Parish Sheriff’s Jail for malfeasance in office.
LSP will serve as the lead investigative agency. The investigation remains active and ongoing. There is no further information available at this time.
