As you know, the funeral for retired Sheriff William Earl Hilton will be held at 12 noon on Friday, March 27, 2026 at Calvary Baptist Church in Alexandria, LA
The family will allow media to be in the parking lot and main foyer of the church on the Mohon Street side. NO MEDIA WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE SERVICE.
Tentatively, the procession will begin loading around 2 PM to proceed to the grave site.
We would request that you put out to the public that Jackson Street at Mohon Street will be shut down around 2 PM or a little earlier ON FRIDAY MARCH 27, 2026 to allow the funeral procession to go to the grave sight..
The funeral procession route is as follows:
· LEFT ON JACKSON STREET from Calvary Baptist Church
· RIGHT ONTO VERSAILLES ALL THE 28 WEST
· LEFT ONTO LA 28 FROM VERSAILLES
· LA 28 to GARDNER
· LEFT ONTO LA 121 at LA 28
· LEFT ONTO 112 AT 121
· LA 112 to the Cemetery
LA 112 will be shut down for traffic and used for parking.
PLEASE ADVISE THE PUBLIC TO EXPECT LONG DELAYS IF TRAVELLING IN THE AREAS OF JACKSON STREET, VERSAILLES or LA 28 WEST.
ALSO, WE ENCOURAGE THE PUBLIC TO LINE UP ON the SIDEWALK ON VERSAILLES and the SHOUDER OF LA 28 WEST WHERE IT IS SAFE TO VIEW THE PROCESSION. PLEASE HAVE EVERYONE EXERCISE CAUTION AS WE DO NOT WANT ANYONE GETTINNG HURT.
